Seems like it took an awful long time before the fire dept started to do much of anything.
Thank you for capturing this footage and posting it. It seems like it was just yesterday. I was stuck in traffic that day in Georgetown and had no idea what was occurring. Now I can see why the streets were closed and what happened first hand to this lovely library.

This is an important historical moment that you captured, as painful as it was to watch. When the Peabody Room, the Georgetown history special collections that was located on the second floor, east end (screen left) of the building, reopens in about three years, this footage will be added.
